A research team led by Professor Julian Trollor at the Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry, UNSW Sydney, aims to improve access to mental health care for people with an intellectual disability and co-occurring mental ill health.
Part of their work is to undertake a scoping study to determine if mental health services in NSW would benefit from additional support or advice from a highly specialised intellectual disability mental health service. This study also aims to determine, if a highly specialised intellectual disability mental health service is needed, how it could best operate in NSW.
The team would like to hear from people who support a person with an intellectual disability and co-occurring mental ill health. Participation in the study involves responding to a survey that takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
If you would like to participate please click here to fill out the online survey.
If you would like more details or would like to complete a paper or phone based version of the survey please contact Claire Eagleson, Project Officer, on (02) 9931 9160 or IDMHWorkforce@unsw.edu.au
