MHCN established a Carer Peak Advisory Committee (CPAC) in 2013 to seek consultation and advice on MHCN’s advocacy efforts and mental health policy reforms in the sector. Out of this Committee, three sub-committees were formed to allow space to focus on specific issues and vulnerable populations affected by mental illness.
The three subcommittees are:
- Younger Persons Peak Advisory Committee (YPAC),
- Older Persons Peak Advisory Committee (OPAC), and
- Alcohol and Other Drugs Peak Advisory Committee (ADPAC).
MHCN has representatives on a number of Government mental health committees. These representatives also sit on our Peak Advisory Committees, so that they can feed the issues identified in our Advisory Committees back into Government policies and processes.
