Laura Knight, Business and Organisational Support Services Manager

Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in History Politics and Philosophy from Western Sydney University 2011, a Certificate IV in Mental Health, and a Diploma in Community Services (Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs). Laura began her student placement as part of her Diploma studies in 2015, and eventually transitioned to casual work in 2015 to full time work at the beginning of 2017.

Laura has worked with organisations such as Being, and WayAhead in their anxiety support program, and from 2017 – 2018 was the coordinator of the Sydney Borderline Personality Disorders Mental Health Professionals Network Meetings.

Laura helps to manage HR and financial aspects of MHCN, is the Secretariat to MHCN Carer Peak Advisory Committee, facilitates the development of resources MHCN and materials, takes care of MHCN’s social media and website maintenance, is the resident graphic designer,  handles membership, is the event coordinator for MHCN’s events, interviews and inducts new staff, students and volunteers, works on key projects currently including the ILC Training project, and much more.

Laura has lived experience of being a young carer, and is proud to work for an organisation representing carer’s views.

When Laura is not at MHCN, she usually has her head in a book or is watching cat videos.
