MHCN Board Elections

This year there will be an election for expiring Board positions for the NSW Board of Mental Health Carers NSW, including:

• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• 2 x Ordinary Board Members

There will also be a confirmation of the appointment of 2 x Ordinary Board Members who were initially appointed by MHCN’s Board on April 28^th 2022 to replace 2 Board Members who previously stepped down. 

All members are encouraged to participate by:

• Nominating themselves or someone else for a role on the Board, and/or;
• Voting (by attending the AGM in person or online).

Nominations for Board positions can be made by filling out and returning the attached nomination form and application form, or by sending an email with the information requested to Laura Knight, Business and Organisational Support Services Manager: laura.knight@mentalhealthcarersnsw.org

Board Nominations close on Thursday 10^th November 2022.

Please note: nominations will NOT be taken from the floor.

Board Nominees to Provide:

We will ask nominees to provide:

• a no more than 300-word biography, and
• a digital photo (before the close of nominations).

The Board nominees’ photo and biography will be posted on MHCN’s website from Thursday 10^th November 2022 to inform members about candidates. You can view all candidates here: https://www.mentalhealthcarersnsw.org/mhcn-board-election-candidates-2022/

The photos and biographies of the 2 Ordinary Board Members who need to be confirmed to be appointed will also be made available on MHCN’s website. 

Biographies and photos received later will be posted as soon as possible, but late provision to MHCN may impact the candidate’s vote (and MHCN will not be responsible for that).

Voting at the AGM
If we receive more nominations than there are available Board positions, voting will take place during the AGM on Thursday 17^th November 2022.

If you want to vote for the Board positions, you must be present at the AGM.

All voting will take place during the AGM whether present attending in person or are joining the meeting online via ZOOM.

The Returning Officer (RO) will confirm the election of the Board positions once the voting is complete.

Members of MHCN are the only individuals able to vote for the Board positions. Free membership is available by joining MHCN’s Mental Health Carer Advocacy Network Register: https://www.mentalhealthcarersnsw.org/advocacynetwork/

The link to vote will only be provided to confirmed Members during the AGM via email and/or private chat on ZOOM.

The Business and Organisational Support Services Manager will confirm the Membership of those attending the AGM to confirm their right to vote.
