📣 @newsouthwaleshealth invites young people aged 16–24 years who live in NSW to apply for this exciting opportunity to be part of the Mental Health Youth Advisory Group and help shape mental health services for children and young people.

As part of the 12-member Advisory Group, you`ll provide feedback to NSW Health on issues affecting young people accessing mental health services and have the opportunity to be part of a range of projects, polices and initiatives.

This month, we’re delighted to celebrate Laura’s 10-year anniversary with Mental Health Carers NSW 🎉

Over the past decade, Laura has played a crucial role in MHCN’s organisational and structural development, contributing her expertise and passion to strengthen the organisation from within. Among her many achievements, she has led MHCN’s accreditation, organised our 50th anniversary celebration, and supported countless initiatives that have shaped who we are today.

Reflecting on her journey, Laura shared:
“I am thrilled to have been at MHCN for 10 years. It feels like just yesterday that I began. I originally started as a student placement. Working at MHCN was where I learnt that I was a young carer for the first time. Before that, I had no idea.

I truly enjoy coming to work at MHCN each day. It is a rewarding experience being able to advocate for and with mental health carers in NSW, having been on the carer journey myself. I feel very lucky to work with such passionate and knowledgeable people at MHCN, as well as be surrounded by such supportive and compassionate colleagues.”

Laura’s dedication and insight have made an incredible impact on MHCN and the mental health carer community. We’re so proud to celebrate this milestone and deeply grateful for everything she brings to MHCN 💐
