‘Leading the Change: A Toolkit to Evaluate Lived Experience Inclusion and Leadership’ guides organisations through a self-assessment of their level of inclusion and leadership of people and carers with lived experience of mental health issues and helps to identify actions for positive change.

Partnering with consumers and carers to include lived experience perspectives in service design, delivery and evaluation is essential for effective mental health and social services.

The toolkit, developed by the Mental Health Commission of NSW in partnership with BEING and Mental Health Carers NSW, will support mental health and social services organisations to reflect on and develop their lived experience inclusion and leadership to better meet community needs.
