Mental Health Carers NSW (MHCN) is seeking two (2) lived experience mental health carer representatives for the statewide steering committee for the NSW Family and Carer Mental Health Program (FCMHP).

The program, funded by NSW Health, aims to support families and carers of individuals with mental health conditions. The Program offers education, resources, advocacy, and promotes family-inclusive practices across NSW’s Local Health Districts (LHDs) and community-managed organisations (CMOs).

This is a paid role as per MHCN’s Paid Participation Policy.

We are looking for people who:

• Provide or have provided unpaid support to someone accessing public mental health services in NSW.
• Receive or have received support from the Family and Carer Mental Health Program.
• Are passionate about advocating for mental health carers’ needs.
• Are comfortable with online meetings via Microsoft Teams.
• Can commit to attending four (4) meetings per annum for two (2) years.

People from diverse backgrounds, LGBTQI+, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply. Mental Health Carer Peer Workers will be considered.
