In Australia alone, nearly 10 million people have been affected by suicide, which equates to almost half of our nation 🌏

World Suicide Prevention Day brings together over 60 countries, uniting us in our shared mission to promote stigma reduction, advocate for policy change, encourage help seeking, and honour the memories of those lost to suicide, those who have survived suicide attempts, and those who bear the weight of grief. Together, let’s embrace our collective responsibility, champion hope and take meaningful action to save lives.

Last week, MHCN staff members, Jonathan Harms, Alyce Cannon and Ellie Christen, attended @themhsorg Conference. This year`s theme `Finding Common Ground` encouraged the audience to consider the ways in which similarities in mental health experiences are shared across various circumstances 🤝

The element of loneliness and isolation in poor mental health was a particularly common occurrence, which can have the ability to unite groups and individuals from differing lived experiences of mental health challenges and cultural backgrounds.

Additionally, the Mental Health Commission of NSW led an insightful workshop on `Leading the Change - An Organisational Toolkit to Develop Our Common Ground for Lived Experience Partnership,` a resource developed in partnership with MHCN, @beingmentalhealthconsumers and @nswmhc
