Mental Health Carers NSW is proud to host a Wear It Purple Day event celebrating diversity, inclusion, and the voices of LGBTQIA+ young people, families, and carers.
The event brings together lived experience speakers, carers, mental health professionals, and community members to discuss what meaningful, affirming support looks like for LGBTQIA+ young people and those who care for them.
Keynote speaker Luke Randall, a young carer and lived experience advocate, will share his perspective on identity, visibility, and inclusive spaces. A panel discussion featuring mental health professionals and advocates, including Giancarlo De Vera from BEING Mental Health Consumers, will explore stigma, intersectionality, and inclusive service delivery. Attendees will also join small group discussions to help inform MHCN’s advocacy work on safety, carer inclusion, and system navigation.
